Our Hard Places

Rain 5

“As he was scattering the seed, some fell along the path;
it was trampled on, and the birds of the air ate it up.”

(Luke 8:5)

 Reflection:

The Lord speaks to us every day through His creation and the Bible that He has given us. His messages are there for us to seek and to receive. Sometimes there will be a very pointed and particular word that will speak to us in our situations – to comfort, guide, strengthen or challenge.

His worlds to us are vital and life-giving and need to be treasured – not left to lie unperceived, unheeded or unremembered. If we do leave them to lie on the paths of our lives they can be stolen from us by time and by the devil himself.

How blessed we are that we have a God who loves us and desires to share His beauty, love and truth with us. Ask Him to help you to see His revelation of Himself in your day today. Seek His word in Scripture and take it into your life. Don’t treat it as one of modern life’s clever little sayings that can be shared with others and then forgotten. His word is to be ‘a lamp to my feet and a light for my path.’ (Psalm 119:105) And as Jesus Himself reminded us,

 “Man does not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.”  (Matthew 4:4)

Response:

Treasure God’s Word. Read it, Pray it, Absorb it, Believe it.

Prayer:

Father Your Word is special because it is filled with Your presence. Let Your word live to me and within me, in Jesus name. Amen.
