Source of Life

“For in him we live and move
and have our being.”

(Acts 17:28)

Reflection:
God is the Creator of everything that exists. Life continues only because of God’s creative and sustaining power and will. He is actively involved with His creation and there is no clearer revelation of this than in the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

Jesus speaks of Himself as the Vine – the Source and Sustainer of life and the only living link with God. To become a part of His Life, as a branch is attached to the Vine, is to be given new life, to be nourished by His Spirit and to bear His fruit. To be independent of Him is to wither and die.

The openness of our connection, or relationship, with Him determines the strength of the Life that flows from Him into us. So the closer we draw to Him the more we enable Him to draw closer to us and to become a part of our daily living.

Response:
From where do I receive my food and inspiration?

Prayer:

Lord help me to draw my life and strength from You at all times and in all ways. Amen.
